I went for the first time last year and it was actually a fun trip. We did the picnic train. You get tickets for a specific train, but seats aren't assigned so get their early and you can pick where you want to be.We purchased 5 climate control tickets to ride the Boone & Scenic Valley Railroad for this past fathers day weekend and while en route, had an hr drive, we got a flat tire. Tried calling to say that we would be late but no one answered the phone and the answering machine said that the office was closed till Monday.
