Not gonna lie, I was excited when I got the code for the Immerse Gamepack. The audio for Final Fantasy XIV is already great, with Soken constantly pumping out new, fabulous tracks and the devs behind the sound engineering always at the top of their game.. It's important to note, though, that the gamepack does not affect the background music of the game and only modifies certain ambient sounds.

I can plug in headphones and I get sound, but otherwise, nothing. This happens regardless of whether I start the game up with headphones in, or not, and even if I plug headphones in and then unplug them while playing. I've tried restarting the game and my computer multiple times.

Then, under the Advanced tab, select a lower setting for the default format. (A lower bit rate and Hz range is less system intensive.) But it doesn't fix it.

I've complained about it a few times on this board, and frankly I'm shocked a game of this budget wouldn't be smarter about it. That's poor programming. Unfortunately no, if FFXIV's audio starts acting up the only way to fix it is to restart the client entirely. I'm not exactly sure why but the audio in 14 is a lot more finicky than in other programs. According to their website the Spacial Audio plugin needs a restart to actually work in the game.Sound came through from FFXIV no problem, and switching the audio default back to speakers didn't crash it.
