I suspect is the common problem with the starter relay. I've decided to overide the relay, and hardwire it with juice from the iginition. As per my wiring diagram, the brown wire out of the ignition is hot only in the "on" position, and not in "off" or "park" Ive elected to use ...1. Clutch Actuator stopped working, checked the holes, problem seem fixed, drove it, not fixed. 2. Changed fluid in the clutch, problems seems fixed now, but more issues have arose. 3. Bike no longer pulls as hard as it was, almost like clutch slip.Starting Problem. My Kawasaki 900 Vulcan won't start. The battery is only 1 year old and gives a reading of 12.89 volts across the terminals. I have charged it repeatedly. With the switch off, there is only 0.02 mA current across the terminals which I assume is due to the running of the clock and other internal electrical settings.

Simply place one end of the voltmeter on the neg battery post the other at the starter housing, or fastener bolt. Hit the starter switch. The reading should be less than a volt. If the voltage dropped to 9-10 volts it probably won't recover. You can take the battery to almost any auto store and get it load tested too. The positive neutral finder on the Vulcans make the 1-2 shift a little clunky, that's more likely what it is. You have to shift with authority, don't granny shift it.
