Everytime you take damage, you will lose one segment. However, as of update 217.1, taking 200 or more damage will deplete 2 segments of health. Since the grace period is 0.35s, this is worth 5 more shots: treating t = 0s as the time your armor broke, the invuln would cover t = 0.35, 0.7, 1.05, 1.4, 1.75s, and the grace period covers the rest anyway. So Armorer effectively tanks 7 hits with its invuln ready.
