One of the most important things in MapleStory are your Equips! The game does a good job of dropping early game gear and helping you progress easily. The problem comes when you get to higher levels like 160-170. Normal Monsters and Mobs will only drop up to level 140 gear which is Pensalir Gear.The weapon has a very very good flame and a decent enough potential. Even if Arcane might give you a small boost, the cost it would take to star it, flame it and cube it is taking away mesos from everything else you could be upgrading. Instead you want to spend your mesos on the rest of your gear.

I don't get it either. The in-game guide is good enough until you need to start accumulating wealth to get end game gear, and there is a ton of endgame guides on youtube for end game gear. Those guides may not be 100% up to date, but you just need to ask your friends in game what the current bis gear is available.
