Peltier marble identification.

The Kokomo Opalescent Glass Company was founded in 1888 in Kokomo, Indiana, and continues to operate today. The company produces rolled glass, which is used in windows, lamps, etc. In the late 1930s, Kokomo purchased a marble making machine from Peltier Glass Company and used it to produce marbles made from the glass rejected in their rolling process.This is a crazy busy marble. It has a single seam and measures 3/4.iI'm thinkingit is potentially an old Peltier red/orange Miller swirl Zebra.It then became Vitro Agate Division of JABO Inc. . Early Vitro Agate marbles are the brushed variety. This is the type that has a thin layer of colored glass brushed on a base color. A Victory is a transparent clear base with an opaque color patch brushed on about a quarter of the surface. The patch is purple, green, yellow, blue or red.BACK: PELTIER GLASS COMPANY. The Master Marble Company was founded in 1930 by four former employees of the Akro Agate Company. The company closed in 1941 and the machinery was purchased by one of the former owners who formed The Master Glass Company. Peltier slags are readily identifiable by the very fine feathering pattern produced by the white swirls. This is unique to Peltier.

The base color is a slight mixture of red and brown, looks red but a brown cast to it resembling motor oil. This example is another (red/brown) that does fit into the other red based family types. A variant (off shoot) of the red based Peltiers. A finding i have came upon all these years looking for examples of the (RED) based marbles.
