The battery hardly ever gets full unless you are doing a lot of regenerative braking. The software decides when the engine should run and charge the battery if needed. It tries to keep the battery in a certain charge range but not full or too low. JLH and FKHeath.First thing to try is look at the battery terminals see if there is corrosion on the posts. If so, pull them off and clean them. If they look OK, try and turn the battery cables. If they move on the posts you need to tighten them down.
