The A300 is designed from the ground up hard gunning. I like the handguard very much and wish Beretta would make one that's backwards compatible with the 1301. Fit and finish is excellent on both. I prefer the front sight on the A300 as it's more open than the 1301 which gives you a better sight picture.I always wanted a nice Beretta, so I bought an A400 Xplor (RH, 3", wood stock). Great gun, but I wanted an O/U so I sold it. I bought a LH Beretta 686 Sporting 32". Love it. No problems. Decided I wanted another semi, so I bought an A300 and made the stock and safety into LH. I recommend getting Briley M-lock handguard. Zhukov isn't worth it for a couple of M-LOK slots (the ones you can actually use) and weirdly exposed moving parts. OEM handguard looks way better esthetically. I would get Briley, keep OEM or wait for the A300 Ultima handguard being adopted for 1301.
