I have watched many videos (there aren't many for automating the Inscriber, some creators only automate using the Advanced Inscriber from AE2 things.) and tried to block for block copy their set ups to no avail. You need to divide the craft into two parts. To do that you can use inscribers from AE2 and name presses. Name your two presses something like itemExtended and itemExtended2 (whatever you want really). Put an iron ingot inside and you will get a unique item named itemExtended.
