It is my understanding that the Gen 4 models without any backstrap installed has the same reach as the SF frames. I like the 30s and find it to be a great carry gun.The 30 & 30sf are identical in every way, except for the 2mm smaller backstrap on the 30sf, which the 30S uses the exact frame as the 30sf..so the only difference between the 30/30sf and the 30S is the slide on the 30S is thinner...It's almost the same width as the 9mm/40s&w slides.
