I do remember hearing the silver e609 on that thread and thinking that it wasn't good at all compared to the 906 which had some eq switches that allowed it to compare to the older models....

Even without hyping the 5kHz presence the e906 is a little more articulate in the mid-high range than the e609 - but the two are still pretty similar overall.
