Then mill a small amount off the bottom side of those bolts until the mag was a tight fit. The Ks47 Gen2 resolves this by adding material to the inside of the upper.

Basically, the KS47 uppers are wider to allow for AK mags to fit. In order to make a standard upper work, you would need to add material to it. This can be done be welding aluminum to a standard upper, and then machining it for KS47 specs.
