This engine was tested on the Destination Harley Davidson dynamometer in Tacoma, Washington. Dan Baker is the technician. Andrews 48's, Wood 222. The 555's, 777's, 888's, will all fit under OE springs and are "bolt-in" cams as far as that is concerned, but those NEED/REQUIRE more compression (and cylinder head air flow) to optimize the true potential of the later intake closing cams.

The andrews 26 or 21 will not wow you with hp numbers but the tq curve is very impressive and the cost for the cams are much less.

It uses the SE 255 cams. I also went with the SEST, D&D Boss Fatcat, Zippers filter upgrade to the SE Stage I air cleaner. Power wise they are very good. Andrews 48,54,57 all bolt in for you engine. I swear by Feulings cam, I run a 525 Reaper in my 2011 96 inch motor but for a 103 the 543 Reaper is a solid performer, but if you want under 4k many people I know have gotten excellent low end with the 525 in a 103, my go to cam, good luck on your choice. Mar 20, 2008 · This cam is perfect for cruising. It has a flat torque curve that gives you power just where you need it on a touring bike. It cools down the heat issues that come with many of the newer bikes. While the 204's are good (I ran them in a 95" and loved them), the 54's are making people happy with the 96's.
