Finally, the Glock 30 with the flush fit magazine makes for a pretty concealable package in that the short grip length is a big plus for CCW. As for the Smith, the M&P will undoubtedly fit better in your hand. To me, the grip on the M&P has a better feel than the Glock. The M&P45c is also slimmer, has adjustable backstraps, and ambi slide locks.I decided to change it up and start carrying my 30SF. Wow, the difference is like night and day. The 30 feels like a brick compared to the 19, even though both guns are almost the same size. I guess thickness difference and weight does matter! Difference in guns is how many rounds they hold and thickness the 30 has 3 versions.. 30, 30sf, 30s I believe there is a mix of 3rd and 4th gen in some of that selection. the 30s is a 30sf with the slide of a 36.. the 30 is a double stack with 10+1 making it bigger. the 36 is single stack slim line narrower than the 30, and I think until the 42 ...
Two very good pistols IMO. My G30 has been the most accurate Glock I've owned, but it is a brick. The Shield 45 is equally accurate and has been perfect through nearly 2k rounds. I am going to buy a Glock 30 or 30s in the coming weeks. From reading on the various gun forums it looks like more people like/love the 30s instead of the 30. I know the slide is slightly more narrow on the 30s compared to the 30 but the width of both guns is exactly the same according to the Glock specs and the other dimensions are the same.
