I would suggest the following for a 7-day tour: Day 1: Arrival in Lima. Day 2: Morning flight to Cusco, afternoon: explore Cusco and nearby ruins. Day 3: Visit the Sacred Valley of the Incas, take a train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes in the afternoon. Day 4: Visit Machu Picchu and return by train to Cusco. Day 5: Cusco.
