If you are ready, select all legs and place as a single LIMIT order= Iron Condor. It will fill after a few minutes, as the LIMIT order seeks the combination of costs to fill it. Do an expectancy calculation to make sure this works: expectancy (avg return per trade) = (avg win) x (win rate) - (avg loss) x (loss rate) Also, do not use stop limit orders on spreads. You will get bad fills and you will exit at losses prematurely.

First thread 9h ago- “I’m new to options” Second thread just now- “Selling millions of dollars worth of naked puts” Amazing progress./r/thetagang doesn't have a FAQ or wiki page like other subs do, so I decided to write this up with the hopes the mods would adopt it. I think it would help cut down on posts …BTO 25 Mar 260p for $1.39ish (2 contracts)STO 25 Mar 270p for $2.37ish (1 contract) for a net cost of $0.98 ($0.92 is the mid as I look now on this exact trade). So the real cost is $92 per back ratio. If nothing happens and MSFT stays above $270 then it costs $92 to hedge your $30,000 investment of 100 shares.

The wheel is not meant to be a delta play, it is really a short volatility strategy which benefits from theta (as all short vol strategies do). You trade the wheel to collect the vol premium imbedded in options. It’s not meant to outperform buy and hold. If you want deltas buy calls, bullish spreads or straight shares.

It's all gonna settle to cash. The only case you might be careful with is AM expiry. No massive risk or anything, just the settlement price will not be determined until ...I usually calculate based on the capital required to run the trade or the bpr. For example, the short put on a $6 stock might only require $250 in capital. So I use thay number instead of the entire collateral required. Different from return on risk though. ( total premium / total value of collateral ) * 100. Theta and theta decay are the core of any premium selling strategy. Pretty much any trade I make has the amount of theta and premium I collect in mind. A simple method I use is to make trades based on the credit received. A $10 wide put spread should collect around $150 for a month. For some random biopharma stock I get it, but acting like SPY isn't as safe a bet as it gets to do covered calls is essentially saying that you think the apocalypse is coming. If SPY becomes worthless the world becomes worthless. Yes it's a good idea for God's sake. If you sell CCs, you're going to miss big gains on the days it goes up a lot.

These are the two specific types of trades employed by the wheel, which is most common strategy among thetagangers. There are many other ways to trade. I would say the wheel represents a tiny fraction of all the ways to trade, and probably the least employed by knowledgable and successful traders. 2. curlingcoffeecake.

This is just blatant mis-stating and a red flag for potential of blowing up the account. 2nd the goal of generating 15k a month. The only issue is they will tell you cases where you should trade longer DTE and strategies for shorter DTE. All of the trades you mentioned can be profitable. Knowing when to use what and when to not trade comes from practice. Selling options can be a successful strategy, but has no inherent edge of being long. 7. Theta gang strategies are just option selling strategies. When you sell an option, your profit is the entire premium of the contract you sold. I’ve been trading for over two decades and taken many courses on investing and technical analysis. I’ve used a lot of different indicators but I find the simpler you keep it the better. ThetaGang is an IBKR trading bot for collecting premium by selling options using "The Wheel" strategy. The Wheel is a strategy that surfaced on Reddit , but has been used by many in the past. This bot implements a slightly modified version of The Wheel, with my own personal tweaks. If you pick a stock you are bullish on and is volatile like SQ, AMD or S for example, you can sell weekly covered calls on them to make 2% or a little over that. Since AMD and S are cheap you won't even need much capital to buy the required shares. If you get 100% margin, thats double the gains. 4% a week translates to about 669% gains annually.
