Duramax ticking noise.

This noise is present in all diesel engine produced in the last 20 years, does not have any impact on engine reliability and durability, and may be more noticeable on the L5P because of the major reduction in combustion background noise. I had the oil pan (pacific performance engineering pan )because original pan drain plug is too high and all oil don't drain out. now the noise is gone, I'm thinking the oil pick tube up was hitting the bottom of pan.The noise could be described as an irregular ticking or clacking sound, like random typing on a mechanical typewriter. A failure of the hpfp sends tiny little metal bits into the fuel injectors damaging them. The hpfp is on the front lower driver side of the engine ...Duramax Engine LLY 2004.5 to 2005.
