It will cause erratic heater operation as you have found, but can also lead to engine overheating and expensive damage.It's located on the back side of the right bank, I believe with 3 bolts. You have to remove the EGR to remove the intake manifold, but I think you can remove the EGR by itself. It’s on the front left side of motor thanks.
